Richard Marchant – Celebrant

Is it okay to enjoy a funeral? Local funeral and marriage celebrant Richard Marchant thinks it is.

Learn how he works with friends and families to create ceremonies that embrace the uniqueness and individuality of their loved one, moving away from the old-fashioned funerals of yesterday to life celebrations where sadness and joy can walk hand in hand.

Richard is also the host and facilitator of Death Cafe Lincoln and, as a qualified and former primary school teacher, can still be found doing the occasional shift as part of Orana Wildlife Park’s Zoo School team.

“Lincoln University – the future is bright”

Dr Shannon Page – Senior Lecturer, Lincoln University

Can we produce renewable electricity, grow food, and improve biodiversity all on the same bit of land?  And just to make things interesting, could we operate this new “farm” without fossil fuel energy?

The Lincoln University Energy farms aim’s to achieve just that…an educational and research facility on the doorstop of Lincoln, where berries, grapes and a whole range of other crops will be cultivated under and between rows of solar panels, surroundings by range of native vegetation.  And with our trusted electric tractor, no diesel or petrol fuel will be needed.

With construction about to begin, come and hear about our plans, and the potential for such energy farms to be rolled out around the country and beyond.
